TWONGEREKAWA COKO // RWANDA

One of our favorite coffees of the year is here! In the volcanic peaks in Rwanda’s Gakenke district sits the Twongerekawa Coko washing station. Elevation wise, the Coko station is the highest in Rwanda, which leads to dense, layered coffees with beautiful acidity and sweet complexity. More than the coffee itself though, we love working with this coffee because it comes from our friends and longtime partners. When QC started, Coko was actually the first coffee we released. Therese, the president of the coop, has led an incredible specialty coffee revolution in the district in order to bring more sustainable livelihoods and gender equity to coffee farmers in the area. We are more than honored to rep this coffee and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
