About the Maker
Giselle Hicks makes everything from full-scale ceramic tables covered in flowers, to decorative wall tiles and pinched vessels. Each body of work satisfies a different creative impulse, always with the intention of making something beautiful for one to encounter or live with. She enjoys a studio practice where she can move from one body of work to another. Fortunately, her studio in Helena, Montana is where she is able to do just that.
Originally from California, Giselle received her BFA from Syracuse University and her MFA from NYSCC of Ceramics at Alfred University in New York. She has participated in various artist-in-residence programs including the Anderson Ranch Art Center, the Arts/Industry Program at the Kohler Company, The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, The Greenwich House Pottery and The Archie Bray Foundation. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Belger Arts Center in Kansas City, The John Michael Kohler Art Center and The Bellevue Art Museum.
